A graduate or professional degree is a significant investment in your personal and professional growth. WashU is committed to helping students understand the costs associated with their education and identify financial assistance opportunities that support their academic goals. From fellowships and assistantships to health insurance and financial aid resources, students can access a variety of tools and programs designed to help make graduate education more affordable and accessible.

Costs

Tuition

Graduate and professional program tuition rates are established by individual schools and programs and may vary based on enrollment status, program requirements, and other factors. Applicants should review the tuition and fee schedule for the most accurate information.

Student Health & Wellness Fee

The Health & Wellness Fee, required for all Danforth students, supports access to student health services, wellness initiatives, counseling resources, and programs that promote student well-being. The fee helps ensure that students have access to a comprehensive network of health and wellness resources throughout their time at WashU.

Health Insurance

The university requires all full-time, degree-seeking students to have health insurance. The WashU Student Health Insurance Plan is billed to students in the fall semester, but the coverage is for a full 12 months. To opt out of the plan, you must prove that you have adequate coverage through another plan.

These may include scholarships, fellowships, assistantships, tuition awards, stipends, grants, and professional development funding. Applicants should contact their program’s admissions office for information about funding opportunities available.

University-wide competitive fellowships including the Olin-Chancellor’s Fellowship and McDonnell International Scholars Academy Fellowship.

Graduate and professional students may be eligible for a variety of financial aid options, including federal loans, private educational loans, scholarships, fellowships, assistantships, and employer-sponsored educational benefits.
